Contact

By e-mail: contact@carrepaircostbystate.com. No form and no phone line: a repair price page that asks for your phone number or your ZIP code usually passes them to shops or warranty sellers, and this one passes nothing on.

Messages that help

  • A labor time that differs from the bulletin it cites: name the repair, the vehicle and the bulletin number.
  • A service bulletin or recall instruction, filed with NHTSA, that prints a labor time for one of the repairs priced here and that we have not read.
  • A state rule on written estimates, returned parts, inspections or the sales tax on repair labor that the state page gets wrong: quote the statute or the agency page.
  • Embedding the estimator on a newsroom or consumer page: the code is on the embed page.

What we cannot do

We do not diagnose a car, recommend a shop or a part brand, review an invoice for you or arrange financing. For a fault, ask a mechanic who can see the car; for a dispute with a shop, your state's consumer protection office or attorney general.

These are estimates built from the time automakers allow for each job, the wages of technicians in each state and parts prices read on a given day, not a quote: only a mechanic who has seen the car knows what it needs. The site sells no repair, part, warranty or loan and earns nothing from any shop.
